Lake Mainit is the fourth largest lake in the country; It has a total area of about 17,060 hectares and its lakeshore has total length of 62.10 kilometers. The lake is divided almost equally between the provinces of Agusan and Surigao del Norte. It is most known for its rich fish resources. There are 31 barangays in the municipalities of Mainit, Alegria, Kitcharao and Jabonga.
Lake Mainit is reported to be the habitat of rare fish species; the puyo or perch and gabot. These species have become rare due to the introduction of new fish species. Habitats of other rare and threatened wildlife put the lake and its surrounding area of high ecological value. The lake is undeniably very scenic. Its water has remained generally clear and clean. There are various points around it that could be potential tourist attractions. Thus, in the Caraga Tourism Master Plan, the lake area is defined as tourism subzone, mainly for adventure tourism and ecotourism. – mainitlake.blogspot.com

SW’s Lake Mainit…A Very Nice Outing With Great Fish!
I have been watching the US Master’s Golf tournament and also doing some relaxed fishing during the many commercials. Just downloaded SW’s new Lake Mainit from the Philippines. Wow! A very nicely done outing with great scenes and a good variety of fish species. Some were new and some were old and they are not all that easy to catch. However, when you do hook into one they will give you a very good fight. Here are some scenes from this SW outing.
I’ve been to this place and it is very breathtaking. The water is very clean. And there a lot of kinds of fish that you can see.
